But before going into details about HOW you can use it, I want to explain to you WHY you should be using it.
Pinterest has really blown up in recent years – with over 300 million monthly active users worldwide and still growing rapidly up to the present year.
Its appeal has breached the barrier of all generational segments especially with millennials and Gen Z!
Pinterest is the go to social media platform for visual graphics that can be freely shared in a folder like system, called pinboards. It allows users to discover related images/videos that can be used as inspiration for projects or future purchases. The majority of Pinterest users go to the platform as they have a problem to solve or a project for which they need inspiration.
They are actively looking for solutions.
As an account holder, you also have the capability to upload your own visuals and even share them within the platform – which is exactly why Pinterest marketing for business is so powerful for business owners.
Businesses have been growing immensely fast by taking advantage of introducing their products and services to the huge active numbers of audience in the platform who potentially have purchasing powers.

So, if you are convinced that you need to use Pinterest, how do you get started? Let’s dive in!
How Can I create a business page on pinterest?
First, Go to pinterest.com/business/create/
Fill out the information needed or automatically connect it directly to your google or Facebook account.
After clicking the create button, it will prompt you to answer basic information regarding your business name and website.
Make sure you choose Yes, I’m interested in advertising – for your account to be eligible to run its own ads inside the platform.
Next, Pinterest supports businesses to position themselves accordingly to their target market. Make sure to choose the accurate details based on what your business is about.
Then, voila! You will be prompted to create and upload your first post. But before that let’s make sure that you finish setting up your business account correctly!
Hover your cursor on the top right corner of your screen where the 3 dots are located. Click and it will show you the different options available on your account.
For now, let me show you the important things to complete before launching your account.
Go to Edit Settings, and enter your business name in Display Name. This will help you be discovered on the platform, so make sure to put relevant keywords along with your business name. Same goes with your username (try to align to the usernames you use on other platforms) and a short description about what you offer in the “about your profile” box.
It is also important at this point to include a profile photo. If you have a professional headshot that is used across your other platforms then I recommend you use that. If not, a full head shot of yourself as the business owner.
I always recommend the profile photo to be an image of an actual person to add the human element which is beneficial to the trust factor people need in order to enter your community.
If you do not want a headshot on there, use your company logo instead.
Here’s an example on how you can amplify the potential of your business through establishing your brand’s identity, authority, and product positioning in the market.
Your journey towards venturing out to a new promotional platform is not going to be an overnight success. Setting up your business account on Pinterest is just the first step towards generating multi-sales and leads for your business!
